HIPERFLOOR is Husqvarna Construction's branded system for mechanically refined concrete. Husqvarna describes grinding, polishing and chemical treatments, with defined process specifications for its Premium, Commercial and Industrial finishes.
Equipment ownership is not the same as Husqvarna accreditation. Where a tender names HIPERFLOOR or an accredited contractor, confirm the branded system, products, process and contractor qualification in writing.

How it relates to mechanically polished concrete
In mechanically polished concrete, the slab is ground to the nominated aggregate exposure, densified and refined to the specified sheen. The concrete carries the finish rather than a topical coating.
The accepted Total Grind process includes slab assessment, an opening grind, lithium-silicate densifier, joint and crack treatment, and refinement through the selected polishing stages. Exposure and sheen are agreed before work starts.
Husqvarna's published finish families
Husqvarna's Australian HIPERFLOOR page describes:
- Premium: a highly refined, aggregate-exposed finish where appearance, reflectivity and flatness are priorities.
- Commercial: a medium-gloss finish for semi-exposed and low-exposure internal floors such as retail and public spaces.
- Industrial: a lower-gloss internal finish for large areas where function and maintenance are the main priorities.
These are Husqvarna's system descriptions. The project specification should identify the exact finish, tooling, products, testing and contractor requirements rather than relying on the brand name alone.
Total Grind's recorded equipment
Total Grind's current site configuration records:
- Husqvarna PG 690 RC planetary grinder;
- Husqvarna S 36 and S 26 HEPA extraction;
- H-class vacuum control; and
- fit-tested respirators.
Those facts support the equipment statement only. They do not establish accreditation or prove that every Total Grind polished-concrete job uses the complete HIPERFLOOR product system.
Where mechanical polishing is used
The accepted Total Grind scope includes homes and living areas, retail and showrooms, hospitality, offices, warehouses, logistics facilities, schools and public buildings. Suitability depends on slab strength and condition, existing coatings, repairs, traffic and the required appearance.
For a warehouse or industrial project, compare mechanical polishing with industrial coatings where chemicals, hot wash, hygiene or another specified exposure may require a resin or polyurethane system.
What to confirm in a specification
- Is a branded HIPERFLOOR system required, or is a performance-based mechanical polish acceptable?
- Does the specification require a Husqvarna-accredited contractor?
- What aggregate exposure and sheen are required?
- Which grinding, densifying and refinement stages are included?
- What slab-strength, moisture, flatness and repair requirements apply?
- What slip testing, handover evidence and maintenance documents are required?
An existing slab may be suitable after coatings are removed and the concrete is assessed. The inspection determines whether the required finish is achievable and what preparation or repairs are needed.
Review the project scope
Send the specification and slab details for review. Total Grind will confirm the process it can quote and any qualification the specification requires. Contact Total Grind N Polish with the location, approximate area and a few photos of the surface.
