Polished concrete, microcement and decorative epoxy for retail fit-outs, cafés, showrooms and boutique hospitality venues. Installed inside a fit-out programme, signed off to handover.
Fit-out programmes that slip. Finishes that don't match the render. Disruption in an occupied centre. Slip testing the tenancy manager actually accepts.
Each system is chosen against your slab, your chemicals and your downtime window. Links go to the full service page.
Jointless epoxy and resin coatings for warehouses, factories, garages and commercial facilities.
Polished into the slab itself, high-gloss or satin. Showrooms, offices, living areas and warehouse floors.
A thin, jointless stone-look render over floors, walls, benchtops and feature elements.
For facility managers, builders and project managers who are past the brochure stage.
Retail and hospitality floors sit at the customer-facing end of the trade. The floor is seen before the product. Finishes have to match the architect's render, the fit-out programme has to hit the fixed handover date, and any slip testing has to be one the tenancy manager will actually accept. The brief is always a balance between design, programme and compliance, and the floor is where the compromise shows first.
Typical build-ups run mechanically polished concrete at medium to full exposure at 800 to 1500 grit for retail showrooms, microcement at 2 to 3 mm for boutique hospitality and feature walls, and self-levelling epoxy at 1 to 3 mm for commercial kitchens back-of-house. Internal grind and seal at two or three coats of water-based polyurethane gives the polished look at a lower up-front cost on tight programmes. Where the spec calls for slip testing to AS 4586, fire testing to AS/NZS ISO 9239.1 or NCC Spec C1.10 compliance for floor linings, we pick a system with the manufacturer data to match and arrange the testing.
Materials matter on a client-facing finish. Low-odour waterborne systems are specified for installs near occupied tenancies in live centres. Low-VOC sealers are specified for fit-outs targeting Green Star IEQ-13 credits. Non-yellowing urethane topcoats are specified for any sunlight-exposed floor. Anti-slip additives are blended into the final coat where wet zones need extra grip. The sample board signed off before install is the benchmark, not a catalogue photo.
Site conditions that move the spec: fit-out programmes with fixed handover dates drive the sequence, which often rules out full mechanical polishing in favour of grind and seal. Occupied centres with trading tenancies nearby drive low-odour and low-noise specifications. Architectural renders with specific aggregate reveal drive the exposure level. Wet-zone bathrooms drive the coving and waterproofing. Tenancy slip requirements drive the final topcoat anti-slip additive.
Install approach is slotted into the builder's programme with fixed install windows. Dust hoarding, low-odour systems and night or early-morning installs handle occupied-centre work. Sample boards for finish approval and a three-sample process on exposed-aggregate polished concrete run as standard, with a wet pendulum test on completion where the spec calls for it. Handover documentation is bundled for tenancy sign-off, with care and maintenance guide and system data sheets for the landlord.
What to expect is tenancy-aware, and we set it out before we quote. We tell you how each finish will wear under retail or hospitality traffic, how to look after it, and when a sealed floor will want a re-coat, and we put the terms in writing with the price. Maintenance guides are written for the tenant's cleaning crew, because the person using the floor every day is the one who keeps it looking right.
Manufacturer data sheets, SWMS and insurance certificates come with the quote.
| Standard | What it means for the floor |
|---|---|
| AS 4586 slip rating | Slip testing arranged where the spec or the landlord calls for it. |
| AS/NZS ISO 9239.1 fire | Fire performance of the floor finish comes from the manufacturer data for the system. |
| NCC floor linings | Where the building class calls for a floor-lining group number, the manufacturer data sheet carries it. |
| Low-VOC / odour | Waterborne or solventless systems for occupied-centre work. |
| Handover documentation | Data sheets, SWMS and a maintenance guide bundled for the tenancy sign-off. |
We slot into the fit-out programme with fixed install windows. Dust-hoarded, low-odour, quiet-hour options. Handover documentation bundled for tenancy sign-off.

Yes, with dust hoarding, low-odour systems and night or early-morning install windows.
Depends on the system. Polished concrete can take foot traffic straight after the final pass; coatings and microcement need their cure time. The dates go in the programme with the quote.
Where the lease or the spec calls for it, we arrange a wet pendulum test on completion and pass the report on.
We sample on site before we do the whole floor. You approve the sample, then we deliver the floor to match it.
